Wilson Medical Center Announces Interim CEO


Neodesha -Wilson Medical Center announced David Bixler as the Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after the retirement of Dennis Shelby.

Bixler is an accomplished healthcare executive having led critical access, community, county hospitals,and health systems throughout various states. He retired as CEO from Rhea Medical Center in Dayton, Tennessee in November 2021. With an established and well-rounded background in healthcare, Bixler is confident in leading Wilson Medical while the Board of Trustees and Quorum Health Resources search for a permanent CEO.

He is known for his proficiency in improving quality, financials, patient safety, and customer service results by evaluating processes and overseeing the implementation of necessary changes. He is community-oriented, likes to engage people, and enjoys the opportunity to serve others.

"I am looking forward to getting to know more about Wilson Medical Center and the communities we serve," said David Bixler, Interim CEO for Wilson Medical Center. "As Interim CEO, I am here to help
provide a smooth transition from one CEO to another; I want the community to know I am here to assist with any matters that may need to be addressed. "

"We are pleased to have Mr. Bixler here as the Interim CEO," stated Janice Reese, Director of Foundation and Marketing. "His knowledge and leadership experience will help with the CEO transition process."

Bixler is joined by his wife, Lynda, and their fur baby, Bruschi, the bull dog. They also have two grown children and three grandkids.
