In December, 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued the emergency use authorization (EUA) for a vaccine for the prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute
respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in individuals 16 years of age and older. The emergency use authorization allows the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine (for 16 years old and older ) and the
Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine (for 18 years old and older) to be distributed in the U.S.


Updated Aug. 17, 2021 CDC recommends everyone 12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination to help protect against COVID-19. Widespread vaccination is a critical tool to help stop the pandemic.
People who are fully vaccinated can resume activities that they did prior to the pandemic. The CDC has added a recommendation for even fully vaccinated people to wear a mask in public indoor settings
in areas of substantial or high transmission. Children 12 years and older are able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine.
